POSTPONEMENT OF THE 2020-2021 HOCKEY SEASON
October 4, 2020
To all Knights Parents, Players, Coaches and Volunteers:
We hope you are all doing well and continue to stay healthy and safe.
On Saturday October 3rd our governing body, the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL), announced that, until further notice, all sanctioned hockey activities are postponed until January 1st, 2021. The decision comes as a result of a rapid rise in the infection rate in the Greater Toronto Area and a statement from Toronto’s Medical Officer of Health calling on the Provincial Government to prohibit indoor sports activities.

While the North York Knights Board of Directors has worked tirelessly over the past several months in the hope that we would be able to offer a safe and fun hockey environment for our families, at this time we must adhere to the decision of our governing body and cancel all hockey related activities until at least January 1st, 2021.
We will provide full refunds to all registered players. At this time we are uncertain if the refund will come by way of cheque or a credit to your credit card. We will advise everyone once we have further information on this matter.
Please note that no player, coach, trainer or off-ice official will be registered with Hockey Canada and will not have any insurance coverage through our organization. If any person or coach wanted to rent ice, you will do so on your own accord and without using our club name or backing. The GTHL will consider this type of action to be a non-sanctioned hockey activity and it is understood that you are renting ice at your own risk as the coaches, trainers, off-ice officials and players are NOT insured.
For those coaches that have goalie equipment from last year, we will be arranging for a drop off depot. As well, we will also try to distribute the photos from last season. We will provide a schedule for the collection of goalie gear and the distribution of photos as soon as arrangements are confirmed.
Should our club be in a position to have a shortened season in 2021 we will contact our families with re-registration and program information. Until then, we wish you all the best and hope for a brighter 2021 when we can return to the arena with our friends and families.
Thank you
GO KNIGHTS GO!!
