KNIGHTS 2014-2015 MIDGET SENIOR CHAMPIONS
The 1997 Knights won the NYHL Tier 1 Midget Senior Select championship in their final year of minor hockey. After winning the Tier 2 championship in 2014, the team set their sights on winning Tier 1. The team improved throughout the season and were undefeated in the playoff round robin. They played the final series against the Avenue Road Ducks, a strong team that they had not beaten all season. The Knights lost the first game of the finals by a score of 2-0, but then came back strongly in the second game with a 6-3 win thus forcing a third game. With everything on the line, the team skated hard with real determination and won the final game by a score of 5-1. Seven of the seventeen players have been playing on the Knights Selects team since their Peewee year in 2009 and this was the perfect end to their minor hockey career. Congratulations to all the players and the coaching staff on a well-deserved win!
